Caroline Underwood OBE, MInstF, FRSA, CEO Philanthropy Company. Caroline is a senior leader and an expert in fundraising and philanthropy. She works at the highest levels with chiefs of industry, philanthropists, celebrities and government leaders and is an experienced board member and senior manager. Caroline was awarded an OBE for charitable services in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Caroline founded Philanthropy Company to work with philanthropists, senior leaders and organisations with a common vision – to shift the needle on philanthropic giving and create meaningful giving opportunities between donors and those they support.
Caroline’s career has spanned theatre, museums, international development, capital projects and universities including as a Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships at Save the Children during a period when high value voluntary income tripled. Her consultancy work has included multiple capital campaigns, training teams on asking for gifts, advising philanthropists and boards, mentoring fundraising directors and developing strategy for teams in Universities, charities, cultural organisations and small community organisations.
She is a member of CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education), a founder of the CASE Spring Institute and a member of the Institute of Fundraising. She is a Trustee of UNICEF UK and a Governor of the Dragon School, Oxford.
