Jean Bonnavion
Family Business Mentoring and Delivery
Jean is a seasoned business investor and spent most of his career in private equity as a partner at Palamon Capital, a leading pan-European private equity fund which he joined in 2005. Over two decades, he has worked closely with founders and family-owned businesses across Europe as an investor, advisor and board member, helping leadership teams professionalise operations, build institutional-grade governance, and execute transformational growth strategies. Jean’s own background in a family of entrepreneurs has shaped a career-long focus on how ownership, governance and growth intersect.
Jean is also chairman of Delin Capital, an entrepreneurial family office investing across Europe in real estate, life sciences and tech companies. As chairman, he introduced enhanced investment management frameworks, built the central functions needed to manage a growing multi-asset portfolio, and supported portfolio companies through M&A and scale-up. He also sits on the Investment and Advisory Committee of Sterling, a Monaco-based activist value fund, bringing an active-ownership perspective to public market investing.
Prior to his time in private equity, Jean spent almost ten years at Bain & Company leading consulting engagements in corporate strategy, operational improvement and M&A, and worked in London with French Railways (SNCF) on the Eurostar marketing team. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master in Management from ESSEC. French by nationality, Jean is fluent in English and French and conversational in Spanish and is based in London with strong ties to Spain.
