Dr Kenneth Goh

Family Business Education

Kenneth Goh, PhD is Associate Professor of Strategic Management (Education), and Academic Director of the Business Families Institute (BFI) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), Singapore Management University (SMU). He is also the V3 Group Fellow in Family Entrepreneurship. Prof. Goh obtained his PhD from the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, under the Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship and also holds degrees from The Wharton School and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

At SMU, Kenneth leads BFI in its engagement with business families and ecosystem advisors to enhance their growth and impact. He also oversees the Innovation & Entrepreneurship major at LKCSB, which teaches students to scale their impact through innovation and new venture creation.

Prof. Goh’s research on innovation has been published in the leading academic journals in management. He has also authored best-selling case studies on family business, innovation, entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship used by business schools globally. He is the co-author of Circular Economy Principles for Family Business and Wealth Stewardship (with Philip Marcovici and Iraj Ispahani), and The inclusive Organizing Playbook (2023).

Prof. Goh was on the faculty of Ivey Business School before joining SMU. He has won teaching awards for courses in sustainability, entrepreneurship and leadership both in Canada and Singapore. Before academia, Prof. Goh worked as an investment banker and entrepreneur. His family belongs to a third-generation family business conglomerate. Prof. Goh’s work in community development entails service as the Secretary General of the Singapore Swimming Association.
