Business Strategy
Christopher Klemm is founder of Klemm & Co. As a corporate finance professional, investor and entrepreneur with over 30 years of international transaction experience, he focuses on complex corporate and private M&A constellations. He also serves as managing director of a single family office.
Christopher’s career began at the merchant bank S.G. Warburg in the City of London in 1987 followed by a period with merchant bank Lazard, in their German office, before being asked to join the Zurich based investment banking operation of UBS. After that he worked at Citigroup in London in a post-merger integration role before setting up his own corporate finance advisory firm, Quadrum Partners in Zurich in 1999. Christopher has advised on a diverse array of corporate finance transactions, mainly in European and some Asian situations. This included mergers, acquisitions, disposals, capital acquisition and restructurings. Over the last decade, he has focused increasingly on advising on the divestment of non-performing, non-core assets, which is a challenging and particular M&A expertise.
As an entrepreneur, he has invested in various companies, assumed directorships and chaired a number of smaller companies. He co-founded and presided at the Asia2Europe Association and Five Elements Capital, an advisory firm focused on resource efficiency and clean-tech. He also spent a year in an operating role as acting CEO/CFO of a green-tech company which was one of his investments.
More recently he assumed the additional responsibility of managing director of Belana Capital, a single family office with an interesting allocation to direct investments, including impact investing and social entrepreneurship.
Christopher has a degree in chemical engineering from University of Birmingham (UK) complemented by a business degree from the European Business School in Germany, including exchange programmes with EBS France and Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona.
